Windsong Wines

Located along the Bremer River in Langhorne Creek, Windsong Wines produce full-flavoured, spicy shiraz.

The project

Imaginary Media were tasked with creating a website and online store for the winery.

The design and layout was created by Meekins and developed as a WordPress theme. WordPress was chosen as content management system, allowing Windsong Wines to manage their site, and a blogging platform so that they can publish updates about the winery and region. The store is integrated with MailChimp for email marketing and PayPal for processing sales and managing orders.

Along with hosting Imaginary Media will provide ongoing support and advice.

Australian Geomechanics Society

With chapters around the country and around 1800 members, the Australian Geomechanics Society is one of the largest and most active groups within Engineers Australia.

The project

Imaginary Media have been working with the Australian Geomechanics Society for a number of years. We developed their website in 2009 and since then have moved the site to a content management system.

Imaginary Media were also contracted to collate and produce a digital version of the Australian Geomechanics Journal, collecting almost thirty years of technical papers onto DVD and USB stick which were distributed to members.

Currently we are developing a digital asset management system to manage and store technical papers, video content, and other media produced by the society, as well as putting together an updated digital collection of their journal.

Northern Territory Government

ICT for Learning is a business group with the Northern Territory Government Department of Education that trials and develops technology for use in schools. ICT for Learning wanted to investigate potential options to address the unique challenges of distance and remote education in the Northern Territory.

The project

The Department of Education contracted Imaginary Media to produce a risk analysis report and recommendations for a territory-wide media server that would be capable of broadcasting video on demand as well as streaming video lessons and interactive educational content to Northern Territory schools based in major towns as well as the 20 major remote communities.

Imaginary Media produced a detailed analysis, as well as providing research into national policy positions regarding the use of social networks in schools. This comparative analysis looked at different state jurisdictions and their use or prohibition of staff-student communication on services such as Facebook and Twitter.

Eastern Australia Ground Control Group

The Eastern Australia Ground Control Group or EAGCG is a forum for ground control practitioners to exchange ideas and disseminate information. Membership is free and the EAGCG holds a conference twice a year where papers are presented on a variety of subjects.

The project

Being a small yet national technical association the EAGCG wanted a site that would allow them to notify members of upcoming Ground Control events, provide resources and technical papers, and information on upcoming EAGCG meetings.

Imaginary Media created a lightweight site with partial content management provided by Google Docs – a low-cost technique which allows members of the EAGCG committee to update content in a spreadsheet and for this to be reflected on the website.

Also, after each two-day meeting conducted by the EAGCG, Imaginary Media provides a secure section of the site where members can download presentation files. These files are hosted on a cloud-based CDN providing fast access and low cost storage.
